The President Carter Legacy Collection
In 2020, World Tree initiated a project to build instruments from a sustainable wood called paulownia (Empress wood). The paulownia was harvested from President Carter's property in Plains, Georgia. A total of nine instruments were produced by luthiers in the USA, Canada and Europe. The two mandolins in the collection were created by Funston Guitars.
Sierra Dawn Hull
Sierra Dawn Hull in Nashville played the F5 Funston mandolin in a virtual concert for President Carter to celebrate his 96th birthday in October 2020.
